The following explains our auction approach, terms of business and notes of interest to buyers and sellers. Cataloguing. Whilst every care has been taken in the compilation of this catalogue the auctioneer as agent for the vendor accepts no responsibility for misdescription and makes no warranty whatsoever. Payment. Payment and delivery clauses as per the conditions of sale must be strictly adhered to. Wine will not be released until payment in full together with any other charges has been received. Terms are strictly cash or bank cheque, Mastercard, Bankcard or Visa. Personal cheques will only be accepted by prior arrangement. Oddbins will, when possible, hold over purchases (up to 12 bottles) until the next auction at no additional charge. Storage of consignments over 12 bottles may (at the auctioneer's discretion) incur a storage cost of AUD$11 per carton (incl GST) per month. Wine Despatch. Wines will be packed for onforwarding within Australia by our contract carrier for AUD$13.50 per carton (incl GST. We will charge freight insurance at a minimum of AUD$2 per AUD$100 value (incl GST), unless we are notified otherwise. If the place of delivery is unattended you will be carded and your carton/s can be picked up from your nearest Post Office. For international freight charges please contact the auctioneer. Wines can be collected from our office/warehouse at 33 Sunbeam Road Glynde on the Saturday immediately following the auction between 9am - 3pm and Monday to Friday between 9am - 5pm. Please note we are not open every Saturday. Labels and wine condition. Unless specifically mentioned labels are deemed to be in reasonable condition which we define as having no major physical damage such as tears or water stains. However we do expect labels to have normal cellar wear and tear, light carton scuffing or other minor blemishes commensurate with age and type of wine. We inspect and describe each bottle as thoroughly as possible and are pleased to provide additional comment on old or valuable wines. Absentee bids. We accept absentee bids for those unable to attend the sale in person and we will act on your behalf to secure lots at the lowest bid over floor price, subject to the following.
Bidding. All bids are on a per bottle basis and the invoice value is the total number of bottles multiplied by the bid per bottle, unless otherwise stated. Lots cannot be divided and the successful bidder must take each lot as catalogued. The only exception to this will be our case lot auctions where the bidding could be on a per bottle, dozen, pack (6btls) basis. This will always be noted on the catalogue, eg. $50-60 per doz. Please check lot numbers and prices entered on the bidding form before sending. In the event of identical bids the earliest will take precedence and we strongly advise you to bid as early as possible. The price you leave should be the amount which you would be prepared to bid to if you were in the auction room. In all cases you will only have to pay the next bidding step from the under bidder. Alternative bids can be placed by using the word "or" between lot numbers. All bidders must be over 18 years of age. Buyer's Premium. Oddbins charges a buyer's premium of 15% (fifteen percent) (incl GST) of the price at which the lot is knocked down - the hammer price - and this will be added to each invoice to arrive at the final settlement figure.
