RSA Commitment
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Commitment
Oddbins takes its commitment to the community seriously. Our core value of responsibility is at the heart of our auction operations. We have a strict legal obligation to facilitate the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).
IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.
Our Liquor Licence
All sales are conducted under the following authority:
-
Licensee: Oddbins
-
Liquor Licence Number: 57701827
Online Verification & Age Requirements
As an online auction platform, we have implemented a multi-stage confirmation process to ensure all users are of legal drinking age:
-
Account Registration: To bid on any items, users must create an account and provide a valid date of birth. Our system restricts account creation to those 18 years and over.
-
Checkout Confirmation: At the point of purchase, customers must again tick a mandatory declaration confirming they are at least 18 years of age and that the recipient of the delivery is also at least 18 years of age.
-
Account Suspension: If we have reason to believe a user is under 18, the account will be immediately blocked and any active bids cancelled in accordance with RSA laws.
Delivery Protocols & Instructions
Oddbins provides strict written instructions to all persons or couriers responsible for the delivery of our alcohol. These instructions include:
-
ID25 Policy: If the recipient appears to be under the age of 25, they must produce a valid, government-issued photo ID.
-
Refusal of Delivery: Delivery must be refused if:
-
The recipient cannot provide valid ID proving they are 18+.
-
The recipient appears to be intoxicated.
-
There is a reasonable belief that the alcohol is being "secondarily supplied" to a minor.
-
-
Attended Delivery: Alcohol cannot be left unattended (e.g., "leave on porch") unless the specific state regulations and the terms of our licence permit such a delivery, and even then, only if the recipient's age has been previously verified.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the checkout page asking for my date of birth?
Oddbins supports the responsible service of alcohol. To comply with Australian law, we must verify that you are over 18 before an order can be processed. If you are a guest, you must provide this manually; if you have an account, please ensure your "My Details" section is accurate.
Why do I need to show ID to the courier?
Even though you verified your age online, our "ID25" policy requires our delivery partners to confirm the identity of anyone who looks under 25. This ensures the alcohol does not fall into the hands of a minor.
What is "Secondary Supply"?
This is when an adult purchases alcohol on behalf of a minor. This is a serious offence. If we or our delivery partners suspect a purchase is intended for a minor or an intoxicated person, we reserve the right to cancel the auction sale and refuse delivery.
